Friend to Friend
Our Mission
Our mission is to help build a community in which everyone is free from the threat of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse.
About Friend to Friend
Domestic violence crosses ethnic, racial, age, religious, sexual orientation, national origin, and socioeconomic lines. The health-related costs alone of rape, physical assault, stalking and homicide committed by intimate partners exceed $5.8 billion each year, according to a report released by the centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Friend to Friend is a non-profit organization that offers help to all persons affected by domestic violence and sexual abuse. We hope to ease the immediate pain of such abuse and facilitate emotional healing. Each year Friend to Friend
- provides shelter to over 100 women and children, for approximately 2000 days of care,
- serves an average of 6000 meals at our shelter, Haven House,
- helps with approximately 120 Emergency Restraining Orders,
- provides over 1000 counseling sessions to victims of violence,
- educates over 3500 students on how to deal with anger and abusive relationships through our Child Assault Prevention Program.
How can you help?
Your community needs you. You can help Friend to Friend provide services to victims of domestic violence or sexual assault in the following ways:
- Volunteer to assist with one of our many programs.
- Donate your “gently used” household items to Friend to Friend Thrift Shop.
- Lend support with tax-deductible contributions.
- Invite a speaker to your organization. Education is one of the first steps toward alleviating a problem.
- Offer a professional service.
- Volunteer to serve on our Board of Directors.
With your support and the support of the community, we can help build healthy, safe, and strong families with violence-free futures.
